Holy Horse Droppings

We ran the first 3 miles of the Horsetooth Half Marathon - then turned and ran 3 back for a total of 6 miles in 54:52. Holy Hills. Steep, paralyzing, long (the first one was 1 mile at 6.4% grade followed by the second hill for a mile at 9.2% grade, etc. Hills and hills...) Ya, what?

  2. April 18th is the 'official' race...however, Jon and I are thinking about doing our 'own' race (same course, different day) so that we can party on the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th...birthday weekend at our house: Jonny, 14 years old...Jon, 40 years old. We already registered and paid, etc. so that sucks, but we don't know if we want to have our entire weekend busted up by this race when we could go out of town instead and celebrate w/ the kids. Ya know?

  3. hey shauna - that's awesome (the birthdays). i think there's something to be said about 'destination races'. it was too cool being w/ dom in alamo. too cool. how's about a destination race for your 40th? you could come out and do the 2nd annual hudson crossing tri (or 1st annual depending on how things go over the next couple weeks). a new race could become an annual b-cutt sib tradition.

  4. Def something to consider, bro. I'm not much of a destination racer...I have nervous tummy issues. I'd love to do it. Let's see what happens. So far I'm planning on either being in Toronto, Miami or Vegas for my 40th and there will be no racing involved. Just pool-side w/ a margarita.
